Eating well influences our physical and mental health, reduces the risk of conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, strengthens the immune system, and more. Currently, there are only a handful of food service providers servicing correctional facilities in Baltimore and Maryland. Our project aims to connect urban and larger-scale farms to these facilities, and thus improve the quality and quantity of food by adding fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and more to prison menus.
