Orita's Cross Freedom School

Orita's Cross Freedom School is a multi-site youth development program designed to inspire the next generation of Freedom Fighters and Change Makers. We believe youth—and Black youth in particular—aren't "problems" in need of fixing. Rather, they are the solution-bearers poised to challenge racism, poverty, gentrification, gender inequality, the prison-industrial complex, and other injustices that plague society. With an unapologetic embrace of African spirituality and Black history, Orita's Cross Freedom School ignites or intensifies the flame of genius found in Black youth and propels them to social justice activism, civic engagement, and community service.
