Fusion welcomes connection with anyone interested in creating a more just and vibrant Baltimore. We primarily serve programs working in Baltimore City, but will consider those working in the state of Maryland and Washington, DC. With our fiscally sponsored Partners and their connected networks working across the Baltimore region for social justice, there are many ways you can get involved with Fusion. To stay connected, sign up for our email list here or attend one of our events.

Fusion believes deeply that we can do more together than we can do alone. Our fiscal sponsor program invests in collective infrastructure so that grassroots programs can have access to robust financial management, human resources, and more.

If you are interested in applying for fiscal sponsorship for a program or project, please complete this inquiry form. Inquiry forms are accepted on a rolling basis.

Once an inquiry is received it is reviewed internally by Fusion. Within two weeks you will receive feedback and next steps. Inquiries that are a good match for Fusion’s program will have a 15 minute call with staff and be invited to submit a full application following this call.

Upon receipt of a completed application, Fusion will set up a 45 minute deep dive conversation to gather additional details about your program. The application and additional information gathered by staff then goes to our review committee. The review committee consists of Fusion staff, board members, and current partners and meets quarterly.

The review committee makes a recommendation to Fusion’s full Board of Directors who vote on final approval for all new fiscally sponsored Partners.

The Fusion Review Committee meets quarterly in October, January, April, and July to review new partner applications. The deadlines for the inquiry and full application are as follows:

Fusion prioritizes social justice programs that work within the Baltimore region led by those from the communities they serve. Our goal through our fiscal sponsorship program is to amplify the voices of grassroots leaders and connect community members with necessary resources and infrastructure. We are looking for programs interested in building collective power, growing and strengthening the network that has been central to Fusion’s work, and who are looking to make the changes necessary to achieve justice and liberation for all.

Fusion does not serve programs with overnight housing, day care, schools, clinical medical work, churches, organizations with existing 501(c)3 status (unless you are willing to back burner that organization while fiscally sponsored), and charitable programs doing the same work as a for profit business of the same name.
