Wilson Park Northern Neighborhood Association

Wilson Park Northern Neighborhood Association

The Wilson Park Northern Neighborhood Association (WPNNA) works to improve the quality of life in the Wilson Park Northern Neighborhood. Our residents, active members, and stakeholders are dedicated to caring for the physical environment and improving the lives of the people who live, work, worship, and go to school in this neighborhood.

WPNNA works on a variety social and class issues. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we held monthly, in-person meetings to regularly inform and assist residents. Representatives from a variety of city, state, and local agencies attend to report on activities and events, and answer resident and stakeholder questions. The issues we address are: 1. Food insecurity by supplementing residents with fresh foods and starting urban gardens. 2. Combating drug dealing with prayer walks and providing employment opportunity information. 3. Keeping the Wilson Park neighborhood green by partnering with The Friends of the Woods group. This led to the preservation of the Springfield Woods, a neighborhood wood patch.
