Baltimore Free Farm

Baltimore Free Farm

Baltimore Free Farm started its community space in the historic Hampden neighborhood in 2010. Today, it comprises a community garden, a permaculture garden, and a warehouse for events and educational opportunities. Our collective works towards creating a space for the Baltimore community to come learn, volunteer, and garden.

Our decision-making process is consensus-based and we value horizontal forms of organizing. As an egalitarian collective, we strive to create an environment where everyone is valued equally and all voices are heard. We support a variety of programs through our space and work to encourage healthy lifestyles. Our space is used to host volunteer and youth programs, educational workshops, and music and art events. The warehouse hosts Food Rescue Days, a program that collects food donations from local distributors and grocers and redistributes it to the community.

We also host Food Not Bombs, an internationally recognized food relief program that serves vegan meals to the public to protest war and poverty. We work with other activists and community farming operations to share resources, network, and raise awareness. Baltimore Free Farm is a hub for activism, art, and environmental stewardship. All donations are used to keep the project running. Come join us!
