Citizens Policing Project

CPP focuses on six major components of the reform process that traditionally omit the input and concerns of the residents of communities of color and lower socioeconomic status, and institute methods that empower the community to take the initiative to get involved and in front of the reform and process with Police policy and procedure in Baltimore City.

With the support of the Open Society Institute - Baltimore and the NAACP-LDF, the Citizens Policing Project and our partner organizations, Organizing Black and CASA will begin a 2 year Canvass led by our youth advocates, to find out how residents of communities impacted by past police practices, feel is the best way to invest in their public safety. This data will be comprised, analyzed, reported and owned by the commUNITY and used to draft the framework for Divesting $100,000,000 from the Law Enforcement budget and investing that money into community-based solutions, proven to lower crime and violence
