When a parent is sentenced to jail time, his/her whole family can be put into crisis and survival mode, and 2.3 million children in the United States have an incarcerated parent. Your support is helping Spring and Fall Productions, LLC, create and distribute a documentary, "Book By Its Cover." Following the work of Turning Pages, a literacy and family reunification program through which incarcerated fathers in the Baltimore County Detention Center can have contact visits and read to their children, the film will provide an up-close glimpse of what these interactions are like and give an opportunity for the dads and other family members to share their perspectives of why these visits and the program are so meaningful. This important film project challenges stereotypes and shows how we all share some common ground.
